Spring tour for skilled
ski mountaineers
Description:
The two-day tour starts at the Hopffeldboden parking lot in the Obersulzbach valley in Neukirchen along a forest road (if free of snow with the Venediger taxi), across the Berndlalm and Postalm to the valley station of the Kürsingerhütte aerial cableway. It then continues across the Gletscherlehrweg and the frozen glacier lake to the Kürsingerhütte. After an overnight stay there, we will get going at about 5 o’clock in the morning. Within about an hour we will reach the Venedigerkees with its numerous glacier clefts. There we will form a rope team and climb up to the summit. Salzburg’s highest mountain offers a wonderful panoramic view of the High Tauern, the Dolomites and the Northern Limestone Alps. A long descent into the valley awaits you as a reward for the long ascent.
(Ascent and descent approx. 2,500 meters)
