Wide range of routes with all levels of difficulty
Description:
Whether you are a greenhorn, newcomer or professional, the Kreuzkogel offers something for everyone, including casual fun rides or challenging routes in the predominantly treeless and partly rocky terrain near the three-thousand-meter-high peaks of the Goldberg mountain range. The north descent to the Mautstrasse (direction Böckstein) usually has good snow which has “powder hearts” beating faster. The vast alpine pastures provide enough space to trace your own line. The route across the Salesenrinne is a special treat. You take the Goldbergbahn from the mountain station to just below the Salesekogel, put the skis on your backpack and go up a short stretch to the crevice.
The effort is worthwhile:
A long descent with more than 1,400 meters of altitude difference awaits you. The
Kreuzkogel-West route into the Weissenbachtal and then back to the valley station with the aerial cableway is shorter, but no less diverse. You can always find new variations depending on the texture of the snow. Even near the ski slopes, the terrain is large enough to find space for your lines.
(Ascent of approx. 100 meters of altitude, descents of up to approx. 1,400 meters of altitude)
