Description:
In order to make the ascent easier, we take the aerial cableway to the Stubnerkogel and then across the ski slope in the direction of Jungeralm. Soon we get our skis in the snow on the open alpine terrain and go down to Schattbachgraben. We will be equipped with our gear there and hike up a steep, sparse alpine forest and soon reach the tree line. The terrain will flatten again and we then approach the summit. We will see various descent routes in front of us. Next, we dive into a denser forest that descends somewhat steeply into the Angertal valley. Then, across a forest trail we’ll reach the Angertal Ski Resort. From there we return to Bad Gastein by ski bus or by aerial cableway. (Ascent: around 800 meters of altitude, descent about 1,200 meters of altitude).
